Here I am again

Hi legionnaires. I've been busy at work and I've made 25 cards in 1 1/2 weeks. They are all fairly simple designs, with lots of border punches, Nesties and dry embossing. I wanted these to be able to fit into an envie without extra postage or padding if possible. I found lots of inspiration from so many places. Most were sketches I had saved. I was able to get my scrap paper bin minimized. I did than by rummaging in it instead of reaching for a fresh new piece of 8 1/2 x 11 c.s. And I finally utilized my dusty JustRite monogram stamps. I haven't done them justice since I bought them almost two years ago Speaking of...that line of stamps has certainly come far from just the alphabet.

Sooo, I've uploaded 20 of the cards, so you can come back and see my stuff everyday for at least a week. I tried photographing them inside in a sunny window facing east in the early AM. My background "clothe" is windown curtain and the one of the tables I scrap on. Sometimes I wasn't very neat as I snapped away so you may see the edge of a pile of paper or a bit of my Ikea mini lamp, so please humor me, but I needed to get them all done in one sitting so to speak.

Sooo, I'm off to join the Gina K Release Party...or what's left of it anyway.
Have a super weekend and do a little stampin' while you're at it.

Those Dang Birds Again

Well, hi bleepin' legionnaires. Told ya' you'd get to see these birds again. Now they're wishing someone a happy birthday. This cute sentiment was a freebie thrown in when I received my monthly shipment of Tombo adhesive from Victorine Originals, here. I just knew what I wanted to do with it.
I have lots of cards to show in the upcoming weeks. I commissioned myself to design a batch for a young lady who has started her very own non-profit business which will encourage teens, often with scholarships, to continue their education after high school. I think that's marvelous, don't you? She'll need to do lots of networking and I hope my cards will help her add a personal touch. Soooo, of course, you get to critique them before they go.

So, not much goin' on with me. The summer is quietly movin' along which is exactly how I like it.

Hugs & Blessings,
Erica

I said I'd never make one...

Yup, legionnaires, I said I didn't like that scrunched up ribbon look, that in fact, it was a pure waste of ribbon and glue and definitely time. So, whatdayathink I went and did? You got it...I made one and even used some of my bestest silk ribbon. Well, I just had to see what all the fuss was about. So, the jury is still out. DD isn't crazy about it. GS (grandson) says it's OK, and I felt like it took too much time to make and too much fussing. However, I do like the look, But I'm sure it's a passing craze and after several more, I shall have had my fill. At least that's my plan.
So, my flower is handmade in the quite popular fashion seen on many blogs with an SU doodad in the center. How 'bout that cute stamp. It's a Studio "G" Michael's dollar stamp. I really love it. I don't know if it's cause it cost a dollar, I love birds, or it's so multi-useful. So my legionnaires, plan on seeing more of it. I used an EKS punch for the ric rac. Kinda' surprised no company made one of these sooner. Now I can have ric rac in any color I want instead of haunting the sewing aisle at Jo-Ann's trying to add to my collection with the old fashioned material kind.
Have a blessed week.

Stuff We Need

So legionnaires....I told ya' about this 3D project I was workin' on....that if I liked it and the intended giftee liked it, I'd be makin' these for holiday gifts. Well, my very organized dd does like it and uses it, so I will be making these. If you like what you see, you can watch a video and get all the deets on Stamp TV here  Note....Blogger is not letting me link......please see my sidebar for the StampTV badge. The tute is called Kitchen Counter Organizer and it consists of 4 parts. But it's worth the effort. Kinda' reminds me of the "lunchcans" we decorated to hold cards. Remember those. I couldn't find a stamp to fit the front of the box, so I made one on my PC.
So, have a good evening and get readly for the weekend. Hope you have something fun planned. For me, that's blurfing and makin' cards.

Well, maybe tomorrow...

It's the story of my life, I tell ya legionnaires. So the 3D project is completed and happily accepted by my dd. Will have to retrieve it for pics tomorrow. I'm taking them outside on my hmmm, rather dusty glass patio table. The dust gives it character and since we're in the midst of landscapting in the desert, it's rather difficult to keep it clean.
Soooo, this is a CASE of a card done by Denise, which in turn is an OCL sketch here. I did improvise a bit and I do not like my flower, so I may have a go at a re-do and attempt one like this here, where you simply had to use a flower of any kind. That flower "there" of Deb's is beautiful. Deb, when are you going to start doing video tutes, huh? You have already proven yourself a stamper extraordinnaire! Hey, that's a private message legionnaires. Seriously, her stuff is to envy for real.
My second card is a MOJO challenge and it covers some other challenge somewhere else where you were to use yellow & green, but for the life of me, I can't remember where I saw that one.  The idea of combining challenges may be a bit beyond my twittle brain, so goodnight.

Birthday Girl

Just a quick post, legionnaires. Contrary to what you may be thinking....this card was not made for either of my grands. My dh is godmother to a little girl who turned 4 and this was for her. I kinda don't believe in giving cards to kids under 4, 'cuz they glare at them and just don't get it. Hate to see one of my masterpieces not truly appreciated.
So, this is that sweet lil gal from Hero Arts...this time holding a cupcake (borrowed from another stamp set). The balloons stamp has been hangin' around 4ever, and the sentiment is from a very old SU Button Bear. The punch is EK Success and the button rounds things out. That's a teeny piece of paper subbing as thread. I colored with Copics...African American skintones....so difficult IMO.
Off to bed...just read that getting less than 7 hours sleep is a sure way to cardiovascular disease. Add that to my weight, lack of exercise, poor eating habits, and on and on.

That said...have a blessed week. Back tomorrow with my 3D Gina K project.

Erica (who is tickled pink to be an SU demo again).

The bow does it...

Hi legionnaires. Well, the celebrations are over and now I can concentrate on my stamping. It's a Bring Back Beautiful challenge over at Flourishes
and the designers have some gorgeous incomparable workwomanship to share.  What I like about this challenge is you have until August 31st., to enter.  I always appreciate lots of time. I plan on playing again, but for this one I kept it simple. My upline gave me the SU punch for my B-Day and the ribbon I got a while ago from a ribbonshare. The stamp is a Mickey's Studio "G" dollar stamp and the sentiment is from a clear set I've had 4ever. The papers are not showing up like they should. I must get my photos together or my dream of one day being asked to be a guest designer will never come true. Well, anywho, the ribbon says it all here.

I've also added a picture of the reason I've been scarse recently. Here are my chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. They were helping mom make grandma a quiche for her B-Day brunch. Not sure just why one is half-naked. Must be planning on giving the Barefoot Contessa a run for her money.

Posted by PicasaDo enjoy the rest of the week. I'll be back. I have a cute card with that little girl to share and I'm working on a Gina K tute that I hope to use for Christmas presents this year.

Hugs & Blessings,
Erica
