Get Creative Challenges no. 24

Hi Stampers,

Yes, I know, my card has been posted on the challenge blog and I haven't bothered to post it here. Well, I'm not quite sure why, but my visitors are few and I don mean few. Not even more than one or two of our team visit my blog. It's kinda sad and that is just one of the reasons that I don't rush to post. Another is my horrible photo taking skills. Certainly I am to blame for it. I don't own a tripod, though I have 2 or 3 on my Amazon wish list. It just isn't a priority for me. However, I know it may be part of the reason I don't get more visitors. I promise my cards are often more than passable, but you can't tell from my poor quality photos and of course, I just have the basic edit capabilities.
So at the end of this year, if I haven't persuaded myself to purchase a tripod, I will be leaving one of the design teams I'm on. I will probably give the other one, Simply Create Too another year.

The image is a digi from Fantasy Art by Niki Burnett. I have tried to accustom myself to digital stamp. And I feel I've made quite a gallant effort, but for me, mounting, inking and pressing the stamp down to paper is a most gratifying thing to do. While downloading, sizing and printing out an image doesn't cut it. There may be a point in time when I totally have run out of space to store even one last clear stamp set, but I pray when it does, my eyes will have grown too old to see, my hands will be too arthritic and my back just won't allow me to sit long enough to finish a card.

In the meantime, our challenge is to use the fantastical and I made a step easel card and lots of fussy cutting from a Recollections 12x12 paper pad to get all the animals on board. The pumpkin was made with my seldom used, but much loved Brother Scan n' Cut, which cut the shape from its inventory and I just had to color him up.

And before I say good-bye, I entered my card here, Creative Craft Cottage, because I couldn't resist an Anything Goes challenge.

I hope you get a chance to play along with Get Creative Challenges this weekend or soon We have just one more week.

Blessings,
Erica

Simply Create Too Design Team challenge no. 94, Early Christmas Wishes

Happy Saturday friends,

I don't plan on spending a ton of time on making Christmas cards this year. I will however, be making  treat containers for several teachers and friends. So I need a fast and simple card to turn out about 20 and move on. This card couldn't be any simpler. Just take some pretty gold (the in-color of the moment) and red card stock. Use a Tim Holt Alterations Holiday Wishes script die to cut out a sentiment and strategically place it on your card. Add a score line for emphasis and voila. Now that I look at it here, a little bling...sequins, dots?? might do a little something for it, but this is the basis.

Come play with us at Simply Create Too. I could use a little inspiration. One or two of the cards I'll send will need a little gussying up.

Have a bless weekend.

Erica
