More cards....

I tried to get to bed before 12...but it didn't work and now I've got a teeny burst of energy, so as I promised...another of the cards I made for my DD's stash. One of my Bible study sisters has commissioned me to make 8 card holders with 4 cards each. Finally, I'm gonna make a few $$ on my stuff. I can design them any way that I want to as long as I include birthday, get well, sympathy. I will probably use several of the designs I did for my daugher. My only problem, is I like to embellish and if I do, it will be a "struggle" to fit the cards neatly into the holder. That would make the project look unfinished, so I'll have to be careful about that. I know I can go to SCS's Clean & Simple section and I do love most of what I see. But for me, it can be difficult to replicate, even when I think I'm CASing. This one almost qualifies except for the MS butterfly. He is far too glittery, although he does look better in real life. I don't know what I could use instead...punched leaves? A prima flower doesn't fit...nor a bow. Maybe some very flat pearls or the Michaels's flowers which are rather simple and can be colored with Copics. I have my work cut out for me in the next few weeks.
Ashley Newell is hosting video tutes on her blog. Go visit and show her some love...she's a little nervous (I sure don't know why). Her weekly videos are named the catchy, "Watch Me Wednesday." I know I will be. You can find it here,
Be blessed this Thursday.

Masculine Birthday card

I just love this plaid paper. Too bad I only bought one sheet. I used my old faithful SU Classic Car set and since there was no need for coloring, this card was done in a snap. I included it a set that I gave my DD for her birthday. She really enjoys giving hand-made cards. I will post the others as time allows and if the pics of the card are good.
It's past time my bedtime. Good night, but I had to watch StampTV and check out a few of my fave blogs.
Have a restful night.

Cards...cards...cards

I have been on such a roll with cards (and boxes) lately. I'm not getting any housework other than the basics done, nor am I reading as much, nor watching TV, nor cooking as much. But I do the laundry, clean a bathroom now & then, am reading "The Shack,", (hmmm, interesting thoughtful and provoking), baking some cookies from a recipe book I haven't touched for 20 years, being sure to not miss one single episode of 24 and Idol, and doing my Bible reading and study...so I guess I am getting something done. Tomorrow, a friend and I plan on getting our granddaughters together to take pics in that field of wildflowers I posted 2 posts back. I'm hoping they are still nearly as vibrant as they were then.

So...here is my Easter card for my swap gals. I love this cheery duck. he comes from a clear set, called "Perfectly Clear Stamps Clearly Better." The set is actually themed for get well cards. I thought this duck could easily multi-task with the right stuff. I used my Nestibilities and my Paper-Kutz (for the scallop circle and Coluzzle (ugh, I have only one blade left...this is so much my go-to circle maker) SU's punches used for the saying. I completely colored with Copics. WHEN IS MARIANNE COMING TO PHOENIX??? Don't know if it shows, but I cuttlebuged one of the SU punch layers with swiss dots. A cute ds paper, a flower, sparkle and ribbon round it out.

The card which I think is appearing first is Sophia Ballerina, a new release from http://www.paperpretties.net/ Isn't she adorable? I joined their monthly stamp club. Didn't realize they were based in Canada. I had to check out the gallery for coloring tips. I struggled a bit and hope I've achieved something of how she should look. The paper I used to stamp the image is from Paper Temptress. For deets, you'll need to comment, as I cleaned my stamping room and will have to do a little research to find out the name. In other words, stuff is all put away in its rightful place for now.

Well, I'm off to bed so I can be well rested for those little girls tomorrow.

Have a great week.

A New Monogram & Box Template

Good evening everyone....got a minute before my pot roast is done, then I gotta mash the taters and see to the carrots. Hmmm, Sunday dinners. But...I stayed up into the wee hours last night and ordered Regina Easter's latest goodies over at the Cutting Cafe She has created a triple set of monograms with borders. So of course because I luvvv boxes...I had to have it and I made one this morning. I added the belly-band. The monogram is a 2 inch circle which can be re-sized, but I haven't learned how to do that yet. I used ds paper to cover it inside and out and SU's retired In Full Bloom. My 2 inch circle punch worked perfectly for the letter. You get 3 different "cuts" for the lid of the box and I added a transperancy to mine which I stamped with Stazon pink fuschia and colored with markers that can be used on transperancies I also have an insert inside the bottom of the box and the outside is decorated as well. Regina is one talented and prolific young lady. Go check her out at the Cafe here http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/
She has two blogs.

I have more to show, so I'll probably blog after I've had my dinner and watched 60 Minutes.
